A Christmas Treat at the Doubletree Monrovia

We finished 2009 with a beautiful and intimate wedding at Doubletree Monrovia for Vinh and Krissyvan This was 2nd time working at Doubletree Monrovia. The first being "Judy and Scott". I have to admit, this place is a hidden gem. Nicely tucked away in Monrovia off the 210 freeway and Huntington Blvd. It's has a really laid back ceremony site by the pool and a sassy contemporary interior ballroom. In fact, only one ballroom, so it only holds one event per night.

The ballroom is a fusion of a smaller Millennium Biltmore and Langham Pasadena with its dark cherry oak wooden interior. I am certain, the place is much more cost-friendlier than the Biltmore and Langham.....

On top of everything, the place is like 5 minutes from my house......sweet. I get to the place, 1/2 the staff looked familiar. 1/2 of them use to work at the San Gabriel Hilton...hehehe




For the ballroom, we did a collection of magenta and a light goldish uplights and a really nice gobo on the backwall.

Note, the reason why our gobos (Name projections) are much sharper in image is because we use enhanced definition lens compared to standard lens....there is no glare and delivers a much crisp and clearer image


Lastly, a big thanks to Nam and his staff at Modern LA Wedding for coordinating this beautiful event and hooking me up with these stunning images. They were absolute on the mark and precise with everything.
